Ergonomie is dedicated to reducing the impact of suicide on society and is undertaking research into this area as part of its social research program.
With our extensive knowledge of the rail industry, we have focussed our efforts on preventing suicide on urban railways.
Initiatives being progressed by Ergonomie include:
Comprehensive literature review around the prevention and management of suicide in the rail industry
Development of a Virtual Reality staff training tool to prevent suicide at railway stations for Sydney Trains
Proposing to develop a National Guideline and Toolkit for the Prevention and Management of railway suicide with RISSB
Presenting suicide research to several RISSB national track safety forums as well as to rail operators across the country to raise awareness on the issue
