The application of remote monitoring, autonomous and semi-autonomous operations has highlighted the complex role humans play in the energy and utilities sectors. How we process information, make decisions, communicate and interact with technology, are key areas for Human Factors practitioners.

Ergonomie consultants are experienced in applying our knowledge of Human Factors to solve complex problems in high risk environments.

Our experience

Ergonomie consultants have experience in the application of Human Factors principles to many projects within the energy, utilities, mining and telecommunications sectors.

We have applied our knowledge of Human Factors to the design of high voltage transmission control rooms, with the aim of identifying and improving the way operators communicate with remote teams and co-ordinate incident responses. In addition, we have worked with gas and electricity providers to ensure that their coordination teams are appropriately supported by the systems they interact with.

Our knowledge and understanding of Human Factors and Ergonomics has been applied to the design of hazardous manual task mining equipment and telecommunications equipment.

We apply our knowledge and experience to evaluate products, systems, projects and people.

Clear information and communication is critical to maintaining safety and effective performance in high risk, high consequence industries, such as energy, utilities, mining and telecommunications.

Areas of work include:
