Virtual Reality Suicide Prevention Training Tool

Ergonomie is excited to announce our Suicide Prevention Virtual Reality Training Tool has been accepted for development to accreditation by Suicide Prevention Australia.

Ergonomie has developed a pilot Virtual Reality training tool for Sydney Trains station staff, to increase the understanding and identification of pre-suicide behaviours at train stations. The training tool aims to encourage staff to take a more vigilant and proactive approach to scanning the station environment and interacting with passengers. It is also designed to empower station staff with the knowledge of how to best manage passengers at risk of suicide, including the development of "active prevention" techniques.

In 2022, Ergonomie aims to work with subject matter experts to develop and refine the training tool. Once finalised, it is envisaged that it will be rolled out across the Sydney Trains network.

Ergonomie is excited to be working with Suicide Prevention Australia to develop this important training tool.
